Protagonist: Meursault, the main character who views life with a very strange, unnormal perspective. The situation causing conflict: Because Meursault viewed life in such an unnormal way, he tended to do things that got him in a lot of trouble. The biggest conflict was whenever he got in a fight with a man at the beach and ended up shooting him four times. He was instantly brought to jail and had to adapt to a new life in isolation. Society viewed him as a threat. Conflict resolution: In the story, the resolution to the conflict is society deciding to kill Merusault while he’s in jail by decapitating him.
