Commercial 1: “Cheetos Popcorn” This commercial achieves it’s persuasive effect in a couple different ways. First of all, it uses humor to get the viewer’s attention and intrigue them into watching more. It also uses the popular song “Can’t Touch This” to pull emotion from the viewer. By doing so, it associates positive emotions from the song with their product they are trying to sell, cheetos popcorn. Commercial 2: “Reeses Take 5” This commercial primarily uses idioms and personification to pull emotion from the viewer. They use phrases such as, “Were you raised by wolves?” and “Have you been living under a rock?”. Then they bring those phrases to life by acting them out. By doing this, they are also using humor. This entertains the viewer and makes them want to watch more of what the product has to offer. Commercial 3: “Poptarts Pretzels” To achieve a persuasive effect on the viewer, this commercial uses celebrities to influence their product. In my opinion, this has a very big effect on the viewer.
