Treatment Options for SalIntroductionIn the following paragraphs a static 99 assessment will show the level of risk,options for treatment according to risk level, primary cognitive behavioral componentsassociated with treatments, recidivism rates, and treatments that will reduce the risk ofrecidivism for Sal’s case.Summary of Sal’s CaseSal is a 20-year-old male that is in prison for molesting his 4-year-old cousin(Maria) for the past 6 months. Sal lived in the same residents as Maria and babysatMaria often. Sal started out enticing Maria with playing games and told Maria that thegame had to be kept a secret or she would get in trouble. Sal would tell Maria that if shelost, she had to let him touch her or else he would tell her mom in which she would thenget into trouble. When caught and arrested Sal minimized the offense by saying “it wasonly touching” and that Maria enjoyed the game. Sal is undergoing psychologicalrehabilitation at the prison.Static 99 Assessment ResultsAfter performing the Static-99 assessment on Sal it has been determined that Salis at a medium risk level for recidivism for another sexual offense. This conclusion wasbecause Sal has no other sexual violations, not committing sexual acts on unrelatedvictims, strangers, having male victims, or have any convictions of non-contact sexoffenses (Hanson, 2013). With being an isolated act to one victim Sal’s treatment shouldbe successful according to the Static-99 assessment.
