Treatment Options for Sal Introduction In the following paragraphs a static 99 assessment will show the level of risk, options for treatment according to risk level, primary cognitive behavioral components associated with treatments, recidivism rates, and treatments that will reduce the risk of recidivism for Sal’s case. Summary of Sal’s Case Sal is a 20-year-old male that is in prison for molesting his 4-year-old cousin (Maria) for the past 6 months. Sal lived in the same residents as Maria and babysat Maria often. Sal would tell Maria that if she lost, she had to let him touch her or else he would tell her mom in which she would then get into trouble. When caught and arrested Sal minimized the offense by saying “it was only touching” and that Maria enjoyed the game. Sal is undergoing psychological rehabilitation at the prison.
