55 Sedimentary Dr. Insitu, VT 05360 08 February 2008 Building Engineering and Design, Inc. 22 Sandhill Rd North Mossy Stone, Vermont 05346 Attention: Mr. Mehdi Moorfik Subject: Aggregate Testing Results Dear Mr. Moorfik, Materials Testing & Quality Assurance Company has performed testing of both fine and coarse aggregates to be used in the concrete mix design for the basement walls, footings, columns, beams and exterior slabs of the proposed Office Building in the town of West Slippery Rock, Vermont. The coarse aggregate sample received was from a local quarry. The fine aggregate was received from the local sand pit. Both of the aggregates were normal condition. The samples used for testing were prepared by separating it up into smaller samples, by means of mechanical splitter. The lab testing results include: Coarse Aggregate – dry rodded unit weight, bulk specific gravity, bulk specific gravity [SSD basis], apparent specific gravity, percent absorption, grain size distribution. Fine Aggregate – bulk specific gravity, bulk specific gravity [SSD basis], apparent specific gravity, percent absorption, fineness modulus, grain size distribution curve. The testing was done using the following ASTM Test Methods: ASTM C29, ASTM C127, ASTM C128, ASTM C136 All test methods were done in compliance without deviation from original specifications. Results are as follows: Table 1: ASTM C29: Average Dry Rodded Unit Weight = 96 LB/C.F. Table 2: ASTM C127:
