RESPONSE PAPER 2 I believe that each student has something that distinguishes them from other students; therefore I would assess my students’ writing abilities in various ways because students. My first method would include teaching students how to edit their own written pieces. Next, students would have a self-grading paper of specific errors they should look for. The rubric would contain simple grammar mistakes that correspond to their grade levels. For example, if I taught second grade, students would focus on searching for grammar errors, such as capitalization, punctuation, and etc. I believe assessing their writing skills by looking at their self-graded sheets is an efficient method to measure a student’s abilities. If students are able to identify their own errors in writing, then that is a true indicator that they are learning and incorporating those skills into their pieces. The second method I would use to identify a student’s writing level is through a conference with each student at least once or twice a month. There is a limited amount a teacher
