Tommy Sigler 10-11-07 Practice Plan The practice that I have planned out covers two important areas of the game of soccer and it is for a high school level practice either JV or varsity. This practice will focus on improvement of dribbling and ball skills as well as some work on combination plays. The way the practice will begin is with possibly running a couple laps around the soccer field followed by a functional warm-up . This functional warm-up will include some work on ball skills. To start off have team pair up and grab one soccer ball for the two of them to share. They will then decide who is number one and who number two is. To start I will call number one and say that they will do a pendulum for one minute with no breaks. The pendulum is when you knock the soccer ball in between your feet while you keep your eyes up and not on the ball. After the minute is up then it is time for number two’s turn. After they have done a couple rounds of this it is time to switch to the triangle drill. The triangle is when you knock the ball forward, pull it back with the opposite foot then knock it across to the foot you started with. With this drill you should take a couple turns having the kids alternate the foot they are using every time. This warm-up should take about 10 minutes to complete.
