Textbook: Operations Management 11th Ed. by William Stevenson; McGraw-Hill Irwin 2. In addition, students need to purchase McGraw-Hill Connect ® in order to complete assigned homework and quiz problem sets during the semester, which is available - hill.com/class/v_aggarwal_fall2012section104 3. Online course materials (D2L): .PowerPoint slides and other selected material will be available on D2L. Course Description and Objectives This is a survey course in OSCM that focuses on design, planning, coordination, and improvement of operations and supply chain management. The key objectives of the course are help students think critically about the ways in which operational concepts are fundamental to the overall functioning of the business (regardless of which other disciplines a student may study), and to provide an operations “vocabulary” for students to carry forward into the rest of their studies and beyond. During the course linkages between operations and other business functions (particularly, finance, accounting, marketing, and information technology) will be stressed. Attendance Class attendance is required as per Marquette’s policy. While it is understood that an occasional class may be missed, frequent absences will result in being withdrawn from the class. Questions All students are encouraged to bring questions, concerns, and comments to my attention as soon as they arise. Please do not wait! Once final grades are submitted, changes to grades will only be made to correct errors in tallying scores Grading The percentage breakdown for each of these elements is as follows: Class Participation 5% Assignments 7.5% Quizzes 7.5% Team Project (written and oral) 20% Exam 1 20% Exam 2 20%

Exam 3 20% The score (as a percentage) you receive for each requirement is multiplied by the associated weight (percentage). After you have completed all requirements, apply the weights and sum the resulting scores. This sum of weighted scores will be your final score. Missing work, or work submitted after stated deadlines will receive zero credit unless prior arrangement is made with the instructor. Grade Scale Grades will be based on the percentage of points accumulated by a student relative to total course points available, applying the following scale. A 94+ AB 89-93.99 B 83-88.99 BC 79-82.99 C 74-78.99 CD 69-73.99 D 64-68.99 F 63.99 and below Exams Exams may consist of true/false, multiple choice, and short essay questions. The exams are required.
