I have wanted to become an engineer for many years, and I have been preparing for it since the beginning of high school. Throughout high school, I used electives to expand my engineering background. I’ve taken Design and Drawing for Production where I learned how to produce technical drawings, including dimensions detailed enough to produce a device from the drawing. I learned how to do this using both a pencil and paper, and using Inventor, a computer aided drawing program. I have also taken Principles of Engineering, where I learned how to use theory to solve a problem, then how to build the solution and see it work in reality.
