Detroit: Gale, 2006. 5 vols. Douglas Dupler is a well known health and wellness author whose experience in the field he writes on are well traversed. This particular Dupler article discusses the potential benefits gained from a fast, the mental and physical gains from the experience. This viewpoint will not oppose what is presented by Judith Thurman but instead help support the view of fasting from We Care’s perspective. With help from alternative professional dietary experts there can be a different spin placed on We Care’s goals in weight loss. Dupler addresses the potential fasting interest invested in those considering alternate means of weight loss. The explanation of the effects and euphoria of fasting are persuasive in joining the fasting bandwagon. “Fasting” encourages the radical fashion of weight loss that reveals American insecurity of their appearance.
