00816151 00816151 Jack Conway ENL-102(52) 15 May, 2007 Abstract: In this paper I will discuss Gun control. I will go on by discussing how unethical gun control is in the U.S by describing different incidents. Strengthen gun control in the US In America more than 30,000 people die from gunshot wounds every year, through murder, suicide and accidents, an average of 82 (Adams 1) a day. Since 1966 there have been about 30 school shootings in the United States including the now famous Virginia Tech shootings (Adams 1). From this emerges the question, of how do minors and students gain access to guns in this country? In the U.S each state has different laws when it comes to gun control. The laws include background check, mandatory registration, and a brief waiting period before one is purchased. Overall, the laws in the United States are not strong enough when guns in school shootings or random instances are killing a large number of minors. In one incident, a man carrying a pistol, a shotgun and 600 rounds of ammunition shot 10 girls
