According to Schwartz (2020), the statistics of police brutality in the USA is relatively high as compared to other developed countries. For instance, Statitia indicates that in 2018, 996 civilians were victims of the police shooting, and by 2019, the number increased to 1004[ CITATION Sch201 \l 1033 ]. As a June 2020, fatal shootingamong the African American was higher. Currently, the ratio indicates that there are 30 fatal shootings per million African American population. George Floyd's murder in May 2020 led to protests demanding a change in police governance. Additionally, this entailed incorporating strategies of reducing violence against people of colour[ CITATION Sch201 \l 1033 ]. Arguably, police brutality against people of colour has increased over the years; hence; this study will evaluate strategies that can be incorporated to reduce the use of force by the police officers. Strategies of reducing police brutality among African American in the USAAnalysis of the de-escalating method Notably, police brutality and racial injustice remain one of the most significant violations of human rights in the USA. Police have been accused of killing or hurting unarmed black people, and some of the notable cases include; Philando Castile, George Floyd, and Sandra Bland[ CITATION Sch201 \l 1033 ]. Therefore, to counter the situation and find a viable solution, it would be prudent to tackle it from the source which the police training. One of the

To attain this, the police officers are taught mechanisms of slowing things down and use time, space, and communication as an alternative training in the police force. This is premised on the fact that police officers are trained to act fast and impulsive[ CITATION McK20 \l 1033 ]. Woodward & Mark (2020) states that during police training, they spend an average of 58 hours learning how to shot and react fast in the instance of violence. In retrospect, they spend only 8 hours learning about de-escalating strategies. This approach protects both the police officers and civilians, allowing the police to manage crowds in the instance of
