This is important to know how to count the proper number of objects, so we can build upon this skill when movingonto adding and subtracting. Students will be able to properly write the numbers 0-20. They will be able to count from 0-20. They will be able to count and write the number that corresponds with the amount.Example of formative assessment that aligns with content standard: When introducing the number zero and the concept that zero mean you do not have anything. Iwill also ask the students about the numbers 1-5. Pre-assessment questions that assess students’ prior knowledge: Ask a student to come up to the white board and show me how to get the number I have represented to zero. They can do this by moving the magnets I have in five blocks to outside ofthe box. I will also have the students show me how to represent the numbers 1-5.Formative assessment questions that assess students’ progress: The students will be given a handout where they must represent the numbers 0-5 by drawing inthe right amount of a shape. The students will then move to 0-10, then 0-15, and lastly 0-20.
