Karimy Jutila29 October, 2020Professor RobertsELM-250Classroom Management Plan1. Professionalism:Teachers are held at a very high and critical standards today than they were in 1800’s. It’s important that we have one model code of ethics because all teachers are accountable to follow those ones. Now that I am more aware of what the model code of ethics says, I can do my best to follow those and make sure I am holding myself to those. My goal is to provide an environment where student success can be reached. But I also want parents to see that I am more than just a babysitter that I provide more than care. But I can teach well and make it fun. One way I can do this is by the way I dress. If you dress casually, they might think you are not as important but when you dress right it will show that you are professional. “It’s also important that teachers strive to interact effectively with one another (Zeiger, 2018).” Try to create an environment where teachers like you and there aren’t conflicts. Most teachers don’t pick the job of teaching because of the pay but more about how to impact and grow kids. Another important lesson is to have good communication between colleagues because they have insight that might help your class. Today teachers are called to a different standard no longer are they encourage to do their own teaching but encouraged to use the team around them such as aids or collaborate with other teachers. I need to make sure that I speak to others in a respectful way.
2. Student Engagement Strategies:Student engagement allows for creativity and opportunities for students as well as it builds and develops students’ strengths and weaknesses. There are three types of student’s engagement behavioral, emotional and cognitive. There are tons of engagement strategies out there but the three that should be used is technology, expectations and routines and teachers should include active learning activities. When working with students that are in special needs it’s important to include strategies by turning instructions into songs. When working with ELL students make sure to provide prompts to help them learn the language easier. Lastly for studentswith exceptionalities make sure to teach strategies with dealing with emotions since that is one ofthe things they struggle with. Remember that in order for your students to want to be at school they must have teachers that use engagement strategies throughout the year.
