Hi David, According to Sipes, Bernard, and Gerould (2019), punishment is equitable in the seriousness of the offense within the sentencing rule outweighing potential reward. Our system today is practice reducing crime. Our criminal justice system has the influence of Beccaria work. Beccaria is more of a forward-thinking person to influence how the criminal justice system changed and grew due to Beccaria’s work. Our criminal justice system is connected by legislation, judges, and offenders to bring to together everyone to create equality and develop prevention. Applying Beccaria’s fundamentals is helping reduce crime, making sure punishment is fair, and the accuracy of guilt. According to Barto-Bellessa (2015), by weighting rewards ad consequences of crime it is the free will of the criminal. There is a choice in committing crime, whether there is a reward in committing the crime and the consequences of crime. Beccaria has influence on our criminal justice system in may different aspects of the system. The way offenders are punished is more of a classical view with consequences for their actions. Offenders commit crimes for many different reasons,
