As for the causes, the first is too many steps, second is too much new content, and third is toolittle time to put out information to the students.Avoiding Cognitive OverloadThe ways to counter cognitive overload rather than avoid it is by repeating instruction and keyinformation, avoiding nonessential or nonsensical content, teaching one complex idea at a time, andproviding time for reflection.
