PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL 2 Performance appraisal is important to ensure that workers are regularly motivated and meet the company's objectives. Most companies value their employees and provide their employees with learning opportunities. In addition to keeping targets, this helps the employees to be responsible for their jobs. This gives efficient organizational productivity and helps to sustain overall corporate flow responsibilities. It is important to offer employees opportunities to learn while at work to achieve objectives with adequate business knowledge and learning. It's like working for an organization and having a monthly goal if the employee doesn't know what it takes to achieve those goals or what the company can do to make it happen. Employees must be professionally prepared to address serious problems and to find ways of engaging with them. The key elements of successful performance evaluation, the strategic advantages of the assessment process, and the potential risks of discrimination based on the labor laws and regulations will be discussed in this paper. Basic Components and Advantages of Performance Appraisals Performance appraisal has three basic functions, one of which is to provide each person with adequate feedback on their performance. The next is to act as a framework for altering or shifting actions towards more productive working habits. Last but not least, the provision of data to managers from which they can assess potential work assignments and compensation. Youssef- Morgan stated that several components provide the foundation for the design and assessment of an effective performance appraisal that can lead to the continuous improvement of performance for both the individual and the organization. (Human Resource Management, 2015, Sec. 6.1).
