Kristeen Johnson 5/15/20Final PaperPHIL 215Animal ExperimentationAnimal experimentation is a very controversial topic. The burning question is whether or not experimentation on animals should be justified (MacKinnon and Fiala). A major problem with animal experimentation is whether or not these experiments are necessary. This problem brings up the question of whether or not these experiments are necessary enough to cause either mental or physical pain to another living creature. This could be answered differently from person to person. There are three main perspectives surrounding this topic. First is opposing all animal experimentation (MacKinnon and Fiala). Second is the animals don’t have rights or any moral standing. The third and final perspective falls in between the two (MacKinnon and Fiala). This perspective believes that animals have some rights and thinks that some experimentation is justified (MacKinnon and Fiala).
