Ligand gated Ion Channels with glutamate receptor (Glutamate as the neurotransmitter) About a 0.5mv potential- Releases neurotransmitters (glutamate), potential gets smaller Decision-> to fire an action potential with voltage gated channels Exceed -55mv will fire action potential, threshold Sufficient excitement 15mv Summation: Many mv’s together to reach threshold; the adding together of small potentials to create larger potential Each potential (EPSP) produced by opening Ligand gated channels Amplitude of potential is proportional to the # of opened ligand channels

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
