Important Note: This review list is what I am using to make up your midterm exam. Questions on the actual test will be DERIVED from this list, but are not necessarily exact replications. Remember that the idea is not just to remember terms and concepts, but to understand what they mean, how they are applied, and how you can apply them. Your test will be composed of any combination of multiple choice, true-false, fill-in the blank, and/or short essay questions. YOU DO NOT NEED A SCANTRON FOR THIS TEST if it is given in class. If given online, see below. Review for Midterm Exam Important Note: This review list is what I am using to make up part of your midterm exam. Some questions on the actual test will be DERIVED from this list, but are not necessarily exact replications. Other questions may be derived from the ones that all of you have seen in the quizzes area. Remember that the idea is not just to remember terms and concepts, but to understand what they mean, how they are applied, and how you can apply them. Your test will be composed of any combination of multiple choice, true/false, or fill-in-the-blank questions. Sections: What is Philosophy Philosophy of Religion Metaphysics and Epistemology What is Philosophy? Go to the list in the module for terms and concepts (branches of philosophy, major philosophical problems, and of the philosophers in the list in part iii on that page, make sure you review Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas, Descartes and Locke. Also keep in mind that there are others that are in the text. Make sure that you understand W. Clifford’s argument regarding the ethics of belief. That is, what does he require?
