The Secret Life of Bees Literary Analysis: Epigraphs Epigraph : a short quotation or saying at the beginning of a book or chapter, intended to suggest its theme. The epigraph may serve as a preface, as a summary, as a counter- example, or to establish context. For this assignment you are going to write a literary analysis identifying a theme in The Secret Life of Bees and explaining HOW a chapter epigraph from The Secret Life of Bees reveals that theme contained in the novel. Your essay will contain a short introduction, 2 body paragraphs, and a short conclusion.
