Week 8 (zoom session) Definition of a theory with respect to the concepts familiar with what you have studied. As given by kerlinger (1964), “it is defined as a set of interrelated concepts and propositions that present a systematic view of phenomena by specifying relations mong variables with the purpose of explaining and predicting the phenomena”. To further explain this definition, we link this to the understanding of the papers studied in this unit. Here, the theory of culture that was studied, provides us with an insight to accounting and accounting values. This shows how these concepts are all interrelated to one another. The propositions are how culture plays a significant role to influence accounting values, example the four values given by Gray. Moreover, the variables can be both dependent and independent. This means with reference to the paper by Patel (2002), the independent variables are the Indian, Chinese
