Introduction The Design project for ELE 404 is presented herein. The calculations used for the design are at the end of the report in the appendix. Objective The objective of the project is to design a multistage amplifier that follows the specific requirements presented in the project. Circuit The following figures contain the circuit being used in the project. The probes are placed to show that the circuits meet the requirements. 1
Figure 1: Circuit for project with no load Figure 2: Circuit for project with load Experimental Results At first I had designed a CE-CE-CC circuit where the capacitors were. This was, so I can get a larger gain and to over come the load at the end of the circuit. There 2
capacitors between each stage, separate resistances connected to the base of each transistor and a AC current source. This was so the stages could be discrete and that each one would be biased individually. This initial design can be seen in the following figure. Figure 3: Initial circuit design This circuit didn’t meet many of the requirements during the tests. It was also complicated to redo the calculations for all the different resistors and capacitors.
