Aracely Villa ENG 102-707 Professor Moore October 21 st , 2020 Sexism on A&P Young adult males have had the tendency of seeing the world as a sexist stereotypical playground that has created an offensive environment for both males and females. In the 1960s women were seen as the weaker sex due to the unequal treatment on the job alongside their physical capabilities that only serve to look pretty according to the male objectification of women. For most women being free to express themselves meant to be criticized by men in public places at that time where sexism was at its highest. This inspired the short story called A&P, where sexism is a key point during the time of the publication of the story and up to this present year. The problem with sexism is that it’s been dividing powers between co-workers, couples, friends and family as instead of working together there working against each other and seeing who does a better job.
