Procedures and legal requirements for collective bargaining, affirmative action, and equal opportunity will be explored. Prerequisites PUB 500 - Environment and Practice of Public AdministrationOverview I have designed this course to help you: (1) gain a deeper understanding of personnel management in the public sector and (2) develop skills necessary to effectively lead and manage public organizations. Our emphasis throughout the course will be on: The political, administrative, and legal environment of public personnel management; and Important public personnel management functions and issues, such as: employee recruitment, selection, position management, employee engagement, compensation, training and development, appraisal, labor relations, and collective bargaining. SAGE. ISBN 97814833.Note: Please do not buy earlier editions (or the 6thedition) of this book, as they are completely different from the one that we will be using this session.
