A major function of the circulatory system is to transport the gases between the respiratory system and other parts of the body.Respiratory System: The human respiratory system is made up of the nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.Nose: The main function of the nose is to filter, moisten, and warm the air as it enters the respiratory system.Pharynx: Pharynx, or throat, serves as a passageway for both air and food.Larynx: The larynx is found between the pharynx and trachea. It contains two highly elastic folds of tissue commonly called the vocal cords.Trachea: A flap of tissue called the epiglottis covers the entrance to the trachea when you swallow food or liquid to help ensure that they go into the esophagus instead.
