Life couldn’t get any worse until he is charged and wrongly convicted for stealing a pair of shoes that he just picked up off the ground. Bad boys are sent to jail or Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is hot, dry and the days consist of digging 5 by 5 by 5 holes. Stanley needs a shovel. This is a story about change and how Stanley evolves through his experiences. “Stanley weighed three times as much as the other boy Mrs. Bell wrote the ratio on the board, 3:1, unaware of how much embarrassment she had caused”.
