According to the American Heart Association, one in three teens in the USA is overweight. Increasing numbers of teens are now suffering from high cholesterol and high blood pressure – the types of problems that only used to be seen in adults. “Because of obesity, unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity, we may see the first generation [of children] that will be less healthy and have a shorter life expectancy than their parents,” warns surgeon Richard Carmona.
