Presentation Checklist Yes No 1. Organization Slides 1: (Title) and it identifies the presenter(s). Slide 2: provides the purpose of the presentation Deliver your “ Introduction ” (you must have one) before advancing to slide 4. Try to establish report with audience at this time. The next to last slide follows the last major point, summarizes the presentation, & sets up your closing. (You should have a closing) The last slide should be used to d eliver your Closing ”. 2. Making effective use of PowerPoint Slides legible (no eye charts) and colors visible Background should not detract from the words on the screen. Avoid busy backgrounds and dark backgrounds with light font colors. People in the back of the room should be able to read the slides. Bullet text is brief – avoid using full sentences or full paragraphs Bullet text uses parallel construction (verb tense, active voice, & language structure) Capitalize only the first word in bullets
