After completing all the tests on the different mediums, the unknown organism was determined to be Enterobacter cloacae . After applying the gram stain to a sample of the organism on a slide and examining it under a microscope, it was determined to be Gram Negative. After that, Glucose Phenol Red Broth was inoculated with the sample and incubated. The result was that the broth turned yellow with a bubble indicating that fermentation to acid did occur and the sample was heterofermentative. After this, the inoculated/incubated SIM Agar was examined and it was observed to not turn black signifying the absence of hydrogen sulfide. These test results ruled everything else out and signified that it was
