Written Assignment Unit 4Government entities, such as schools, may have need to issue short term notes to continue operation until government funding is received. The United States has a total of 90,075 local government entities, including 38,779 general purpose government entities and 51,296 special districts (Maciag, 2019). As of 2018, the United States also has 130,930 public elementary and secondary schools (Bustamante, 2019). All of these entities are funded by money collected by the government, such as taxes. Sometimes, thisfunding is not enough to last the whole period, this is when issuing short term notes is necessary. Some entities, like schools, may not be able to pay off the short term notes during the current period. This is when the decision has to be made for the school to take on more debt or if it will pay off the notes.If I found my school in this situation, I would decide accordingly with the circumstances around the situation.
