MANAGEMENT 511A – FALL 2012 SECOND PERIODIC EXAM This exam consists of seven (7) questions which are to be completed by you individually, without consultation with any other person. In formulating your answer, the work may be done “open book, open notes” but citation to cases is not necessary or particularly helpful. The exam should be completed by you, on your own, answers printed, and filed in the mail file of Xiao Hu, in the MBA lounge, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012. If for any reason you are not able to print and deliver your answers to Xiao’s mail file, you should email the answers to Xiao Hu at [email protected] . Be sure in whatever format the exam answers are delivered to Xiao that you clearly include your name on the answers (and not only on the transmittal). The time spent in completing the answers to the following questions should not take more than 3 hours in total. The seven (7) questions will have a total weight of 45 points allocated as follows: Questions 1 - 5 5 points each Questions 6 and 7 10 points each The questions are: 1. Identify and briefly describe each of the three different theories upon which a strict liability in tort (products liability) claim may be based. 2. Georgia purchased an option on Greenacre from Pamela for $10,000. The option contract contained a provision by which Georgia promised not to assign the option contract without Pamela's permission. Georgia, without Pamela's permission, assigns the contract to Michael.
