Von Walter 2Apparati:-200 mL beaker-Waste beaker-Stirrer-hotplate-Magnetic stirbar-Stirring rod with rubber policeman-Graduated cylinders-Ringstand-Thermometer-Split one-hole stopper-Metal clamp-Funnel-Filter paper-Plastic specimen cup-Büchner funnel-Small beaker-Drying ovenChemicals:-5 g of solid, ferrous Fe(NH4)2(SO4)26H2O-Distilled water-5 drops of 3 M H2SO4-33 mL of 1 M H2C2O4-20 mL of 300 g K2C2O4H2O per liter-20 mL of H2O2-10 mL of ethanolProcedure:Week 11.The mass of a 200 mL beaker was measured and then approximately 5 g of ferrousammonium sulfate hexahydrate was added to the beaker.2.The solid sample was then dissolved in 15 mL of distilled water containing 5 drops of 3M H2SO4.3.25 mL of 1 M H2C2O4was added to the solution4.A magnetic stirbar was placed into the beaker and the beaker was placed on a stirrer-hotplate.5.The solution was boiled, then cooled, and then decanted. 20 mL of distilled water wasadded to the precipitate, then boiled, cooled, and decanted for a second time.6.20 mL of saturated potassium oxalate solution was added to the precipitate in the beaker.7.A thermometer was then placed in the solution and the solution was heater up to 40º Cwhile being continuously stirred.8.The temperature of the solution was kept at 40ºC while 20 mL of 3% H2O2was slowlyadded to the beaker and continuously stirred in.
