Problem 1 (30/60 points): Your professor tries to use Linear Programs whenever he can. He is going hiking on the weekend and wants to make an “optimal” trail-mix (a hiking snack) that is as light as possible (he does not want to carry too much weight), yet offers the proper range of nutrients and calories. Below are the 3 ingredients he is considering, along with the amount of nutrients per gram of ingredient: Ingredients Vitamin B Protein Calories peanuts 5 3 10 dried anchovies 20 10 15 yogurt balls 15 2 10 The following table represents the minimum amount of nutrients and calories required in the trail mix.
