Medieval and Enlightenment Era 2 The Medieval Era and the Enlightenment Era are both known for their philosophies that have shaped and molded Educational Institutions throughout America today. The philosophers during the Medieval Era included Christian theories throughout their teachings in order to bring the Bible to light rather than using the Catholic traditions. On the other hand, the Enlightenment Era is known as the era who began to use science in order to start seeking the truth about churches. The Enlightenment Era is also known as “The Age of Reason” since they started to challenge different traditions that the church upheld. Throughout the period of the Enlightenment Era, the philosophers thought of themselves as being rational thinkers since they were responsible for reconstructing society completely to a more progressive society. The Medieval Era centered their teachings and their philosophies around God and Christianity, while the Enlightenment Era focused more of their teachings and philosophies around science.
