With the 737 Max, was it because the software did not quite match up with the new wing(?) design? Sort of a mismatch of software and physical engineering? In one of my books I read about a radiation medicine machine that killed people because they had reused code from an earlier version of the machine. There was a mismatch between the software and the new physical makeup of the radiation machine. I guess this shows one of the dangers of reusing code (which we all love to do!).
