Annie Park Intro to Psychology V89.001 Fall 2011 Professor Edgar E. Coons Choose one of the experiments you participated in this Fall and (1) describe what question that experiment sought to answer For one of my experiments this fall, I participated in a study called "Graduate Student Evalutation," conducted by graduate student Suzette Caleo. The question she sought to answer had to do with gender - she wanted to examine whether or not women are given less credit for success and more blame for failure when they work jointly on traditionally male tasks with men. She hypothesized that, relative to men, women would receive less credit for a successful outcome when they work with other men in male-dominated fields. (2) describe and evaluate the methodology used to do so, To answer that question, the experimenter had me evaluate a male graduate student based on his course list and grades, a recommendation letter from his professor, and a work sample from a successful group project he did with a female partner.
