Cons At times, it's slow and tedious as a textbook. The Bottom Line Quite possibly the most important mini-series ever beamed into our living rooms. Full Review Sometimes TV gets it right. Every so often, the networks manage to rise above the muck of brain-taffy like Punky Brewster, Saved by the Bell, Mama?s Family and Rescue From Gilligan?s Island . Sometimes?but only sometimes , mind you?it?s possible to be moved, entertained, provoked and educated by the cathode rays beaming from the boob tube into your living room. Exhibit A: Holocaust , the 1978 seven-hour mini-series which shoved concentration-camp horrors in our face and dared us to turn away. Even watching the drama today on VHS (packaged in a three-tape set from Republic Pictures), there are scenes strong enough to make stone statues
