GETR 346 Brent Fiorito Response Paper 4/6/08 Widespread Acceptance: Schindler’s List I have chosen Schindler’s List for this week’s response paper and have found reviews of the film from two European countries, one from Britain and one from Germany. This blockbuster movie drew major attention from people in the US and throughout Europe. There are many aspects of this film, both on and off the screen, that allow it to draw so many positive reviews from views across the globe. One of the most discussed aspects of the film is the director, Steven Spielberg, who is not only a master of directing but also a Jewish man himself. The story of Oscar Schindler is that of a Nazi interested in making money by way of Jewish slave labor who evolves over time and focuses on saving the lives of Jews in concentration camps.
