META-FUNCTION It's often the case that we have an entire directory of files which we want our program to use in some way. For  instance, say we have a large number of datafiles (saved with the extension .dat in the directory  ./Data ) and we  wish to make a plot from each one. We could stoically remain at our desk until nine o'clock putting each filename into  the argument of our plotting program. OR, we could set Python to look in the directory for us. How? Like this: import numpy , glob , os my_files = numpy . sort(glob . glob(os . path . join( "./Data/" , "*.dat" ))) This explores the directory  ./Data  for all files with the extension .dat and puts the filename into an alphabetised list  called  my_files my_files[0]  will be the first file name,  my_files[1] will be the second, and so on. How  does it do this? Magic.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
