Fawbush 1Professor Alaina PlowdreyPHI210RS: Thinking and Doing EthicsDue Date: Sunday, February 8, 2020Written Case Analysis 3: Case 16, Page 96This case requires us to look at the ethics surrounding relationships and families and whatshould bind us together. Is it a piece of paper (marriage) or is it more than that? Are we just morally bound to stick by each other because we are family? The parties involved in this particular case are the man, the woman, and their unborn child. The man had no ethical obligation within the constraints of their personal agreement to stay. We don’t know the full story here, nor do we know that the man was leaving the child when he chose to leave the woman. You can choose to have a relationship or life outside of the parent of your children. People shouldn’t be bound to others “just for the children”. The respect for persons value is essentially what most people know as being the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule tells us to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
