J u n e 2 n d , 2 0 1 0 EVCC SUSTAINABILITY / RCM REPORT 1. Puget Sound Energy Resource Conservation Grant: Ongoing grant funding based on: A. Maintaining an RCM position at EVCC. B. Filing a yearly RCM/Sustainability Plan C. Continued goal oriented work towards plan in process D. Data collection and “crunching” utilizing Utility Manager E. Ongoing projects and programs already developed and working or in planning stages at EVCC. F. Energy Efficiency in design payback (Fitness Center expected to be appx $25K for efficiency) 2. Public Utility District (PUD) Energy Efficiency in Schools Contract A. Total funding to date nearly 100,000. More expected through Fitness Center and Index Replacement projects. $10K of this money is set aside annually for Sustainability Committee projects. B. New contract in “talks” with PUD, Electrical Mechanical engineers for EVCC, EVCC Electrician for Fitness Center design payback. C. Two PUD based demonstration for “innovative design” grants in discussion in Fitness Center: Solar Project . Pending re-model of Parks and new Index Replacement building will also fall under this contract; more to come as this project develops. 3. LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficiency Design) Silver or above on all projects: A. All new building and remodel projects to meet LEED silver or above standard per Sec. 3 (1) All major facility projects of public agencies receiving any funding in a state capital budget, or projects financed through a financing contract as defined in RCW 39.94.020, must be designed, constructed, and certified to at least the LEED silver standard. This subsection applies to major facility projects that have not entered the design phase prior to the effective date of this section and to the extent appropriate LEED silver standards exist for that type of building or facility. 4. West Coast Energy Management Congress: The West Coast Energy Management Congress is an annual event that brings together many professionals in the energy conservation and sustainability field. Training and networking opportunities are plentiful.
