Organizational theory refers to the collection of activities of individuals or organizations thatcollaborate with each other in order to achieve a shared objective. It also examines the impact ofsocial contact between people within organizations. Within a formal organizational systemwith prescribed responsibilities, management takes place. It is aimed at achieving goals andobjectives by manipulating others' efforts.Certain theories of management have become central to contemporary businesspractices. There are four key theoretical contributions which are fundamental to today's organizations' understanding.Scientific Management TheoryScientific Management Theory focuses on eliminating waste and reducing processing times andis a very early management theory. It was founded by Frederick Taylor, who attempted toimprove operations using a scientific method. The philosophy of Taylor emphasizesincentivizing the efficiency of workers and reducing patterns of "hit and trial."Administrative Management Theory
