Lean Six Sigma in HealthcareSix Sigma is used in the business fields to eliminate defects and variability in a business process (CSU-Global, 2020). These tools for process improvement were introduced by anAmerican engineer name Bill Smith in 1986.The main objective is the make the process smoother and decreasing the amount of defects that are found. The techniques of Six Sigma tools come in the form of a DMAIC process, which includes defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling (Fretrick, 2016). Six Sigma is a multifaceted methodology that uses the framework to help performance areas, shape strategy, alignment services with customers, and to measure and improve the effectiveness of business processes (CSU-Global, 2020).
