Mind Full of BluesMany people my age may, or may not have experienced the dreaded feeling of beingdepressed. I had my fair share of feeling like my life wasn’t what I wanted it to be. You feel as ifnobody would bother helping you, being afraid to go to someone and ask them to lead us back toour civilization. It feels wrong, now that I try to think only good things that happened to me inmy lifetime. Yet, I’m reminded of how life can make us feel worthless. From having experiencedmy fight with depression and won, you want to have people who truly care for you, be there forwhatever reason they have to be with you. Not wanting myself to self-destroy myself, or worse, giving up in life. All that is in the past, but will truly be in my mind forever. As a memo of notwanting to go back to. And enjoy what life truly has for us all. For me.Depression, a psychological state that changes how you think and feel, that can affectsocial behavior and of our well-being. This feeling of hopelessness makes us remark ourselveswithlow self esteem and self-depreciation of our purpose in life. It is a continuous feeling ofsadness that stays with you. Not treating it wouldaffect the way you act, feel, and think. It canalso cause problems towards family members or friends, who may be trying all they have to helpout. Depression is one of the most common psychological problems, affecting nearly everyonethrough either personal experiences or through family history of suffering from it. Depression, unfortunately, is often a gatewayleadingto suffering. This suffering would then move towardsto committing suicide, to leave life behind in order to get away from what hurts us the most.I can’t ignore our current situation and won’t make any of us feel depressed at what lifegave us. It's easy to feel that sadness when there is nobody around us that is capable of lending ahand and keeping them from harming themselves further. It can affect anybody, no matter howresilient one can be. Although many who do suffer from depression find ways to recover, we
can’t be ignorant knowing that there are still those who do not seek help and/or can’t find a way, hurting themselves even furthur. They need someone to lean on, yet oftentimes no one basks aneye at them with no sympathy, continuing on with their lives instead of saving a soulI have watched documentaries like “This Emotional Life”, “Men Get Depression”, and“The Misunderstood Epidemic: Depression” and have seen the minds behind people who aresuffering greatly from their self-destructions. It's sad to know that the media show the dark sideof how little these people actually receive help and were left alone in the dark, unaware of theconsequences with people who were to leave them to themselves for too long. We need to payattention to any sort of signs that may be caused by depression and stop it before another personhas given up in life.
