Unformatted text preview: What are the main methods of investigation available to psychologists? Robert Russotti 2-12-08 There are many methods of investigation available to psychologists. Some methods include experimental research, which is a study by experimenting people, descriptive research, which is observing people in the real world, case studies, which are very detailed reports on a person or small group of people, and a survey, asking people questions with paper and a pencil. Surveys are the most popular method; the survey method is not complex, has advantages, and disadvantages, but is the best method to find out information. Surveying people to get answers to research is the best way to find out answers. The survey method is a research method that uses structured interviews or questionnaires to gather information about groups of people.
