Carl Crittenden April 3, 2007 FWS MW 11 The Italian Labyrinth The streets of Siena could be thought of as a maze. When I find myself lost in this labyrinth, however, it turns out to be a lot of fun. The eroded pathways feel rough on my feet, but I have to continue walking to reach my destination, which is the middle. I cannot see too far because the buildings are six floors high. Although the main road seems to point me to the center, I can find entertainment by taking the smaller alleyways. I turn down a small street where I smell a warm pizza fresh out of the brick-oven. The pizzeria is on the corner on the first floor of a building filled with apartments. The chef of this delicious pie probably inhabits one of the small flats above his little restaurant. Then, I make another turn down a small hill where I come across the soccer souvenir shop. I hear the sounds of the tune “Forza Siena” playing inside the store. I look in and see a room filled with the colors white, black, and yellow, the colors of the team.
