1. Writing is a process that involves at least four distinct steps: prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing. It is known as a recursive process. While youare revising, you might have to return to the prewriting step to develop andexpand your ideas.2. Effective prewriting makes the rest of the writing process easier and lessstressful. The more time and effort you put into prewriting, the less time youwill have to spend on the rest of the writing process. If you develop a planbefore you start writing, your writing will start with a purpose and astructure.3.A thesis statement makes a promise to the reader about the scope, purpose, anddirection of the paper. It summarizes the conclusions that the writer hasreached about the topic. A thesis statement is generally located near the end ofthe introduction. The thesis statement sets the reader up for the rest of theessay. Usually at the end of the introduction paragraph, the thesis leads intothe body paragraph, which provides evidence and ideas to back up the thesis. Thethesis statement is important because it tells the audience what they will bereading about.4.Audience analysis is important before writing an essay because An audienceanalysis is a tool that allows the technical writer to gain a more completeperspective of who the audience is and what their goals, interests, and needsare. Completing an audience analysis is the first step in document preparation, and without it, you can't effectively plan the document or start writing.
