C121 Task 2 A. Explain the reasons for the rise of partisan politics in the Early Republic? - The United States of America had a rough and bumpy road to start. After the colonies won their freedom from England, most of the people were in favor of the new constitution and were looking forward to the new and free country that they now live in, these people were known as the Federalists. Unfortunately, not everyone was a fan of the government in the new western world. These people believed that with the federal government gaining more and more power it would eventually lead to the tyranny they just fought so hard to get rid of. These beliefs would eventually grow and split the new world into two sides based on political views. (Norton, 2015) - In the early years of the states only certain people of power or importance worried about politics. That all changed when more and more newspapers began printing. Newspaper companies began to rise and so did the spread of political awareness. Now with anyone having access to multiple newspapers all of which sharing their own political views the common people became invested in politics, thus dividing the country more and more into separate political groups, or parties.
