Alejandro Ruiz Shawnna Sanzo English 1301 November 15th, 2020 The meaning of Death by Landscape Margaret Atwood is for sure an interesting author, having written so many works of literature. Born in Ottawa, Canada, she is most known for having a writing style that displays prose fiction that projects her feminist perspective. It’s no wonder as to why her works have maintained their relevancy throughout the years since they have been published and studied. In “Death by Landscape” we follow the life of the protagonist Lois as she tells the memories of going to a summer camp which was located in the woods in a world set after the world war and how these past events have affected her in the future. One of the major themes that can be found and presented at the start of the story while reading this particular passage is loss, it’s clear to see that the mood in the beginning of the story is somber and gloomy when it's revealed that her husband Rob has passed away, leaving her with her kids but even they have left her since the kids have gotten older and have moved out.
