Thomas Weelkes was baptized October 25, 1576 in Sussex, United Kingdom and Died November 30, 1623, inLondon, United Kingdom.(Britannica, 2020) In 1602 he received a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Oxford. He was known for having played the organ. He was well known for his madrigals there are nearly 100 of his madrigals that survived over the years. His finest works are in two books. It is unknown if he had any influencers or teachers as there is nothing definite known about his early life. (Britannica, 2020) Thomas’ works were characteristic of his time. Some of the challenges he faced was that he was a drunk. (Singers, 2020)
